Obituary for Marilyn A. Kurtz

Marilyn A. Kurtz, 85, of Marietta, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Harmar Place. She was born on July 28, 1932 in Williamstown, WV to the late Harry and Helen Martin Hartenstine.
Marilyn was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #58 in Williamstown, United Methodist Women, Senior Club-Senior Singers Group, Police Wives Organization, Pioneer Ladies Civitan, Homemaker's through the OSU Extension Office, and she was a 4-H Club Advisor. She also volunteered at Marietta Memorial Hospital and Harmar Place, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Women's Sewing Group at Christ United Methodist Church making sleeping bags for the homeless and blankets/quilts for the Washington Co. Juvenile Center.
She is survived by her husband, Edward "Joe" Kurtz; daughter, Melody Zimmerman (Mike) of Lowell, OH; son, Edward A. Kurtz (Angie) of Nelsonville, OH; grandchildren, Dawn Carsner (John) of Norristown, PA, Robert Colling (Suzy) of Leister, NC, Trista McClain of Nelsonville, OH, Justin Kurtz of Nelsonville, OH; seven great grandchildren and a niece, Jennifer Huber (Steve) of Bellingham, WA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark A. Kurtz and a sister, Kathryn Stewart.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will be observed with a memorial service to be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 Wooster St., Marietta, OH.
