Obituary for Florence Irene Johnson

F. Irene Johnson passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2018 with her son Michael by her side.
Irene was born on October 21, 1926 to the late Gertrude and Clyde Beaver.
Irene married the late Kelmer Johnson on May 1, 1952.
She graduated from Marietta High School. She worked numerous jobs including making parts to support the war, Harts Family Center, and the Sears and Roebuck catalog store where she retired.
She was a member of the Norwood United Methodist Church where she had participated in various groups including being the leader of the Youth Fellowship, Homebuilders and United Methodist Women. She loved to work in her flower garden and was an avid reader.
Irene will be missed by her children, Michael of Marietta Ohio; Matthew (Stacie) of Fleming; and Mark (Tammie) of Lowell; her grandsons, Tyler (Julie) of Columbus; and Derek (Kayla) of Belpre as well as her great-grandson Maverick who was born on January 5, 2018; her sister Betty Metts of Marietta; her sister-in-law Glendora Johnson of Poplar Bluff, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Bill and Jack.
The family would like to thank the Marietta Home Health and Hospice and Interim Healthcare of Marietta, OH for the care provided.
A family celebration of Irene’s life will be held at a later date.
The family asks for donations to the Marietta HSOV, 90 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, Ohio or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 in lieu of flowers.
