Obituary for Marilou Smith

Marilou Smith, 90, of Fostoria, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017, following a brief illness. She had previously lived in Lower Newport, Ohio. She was born February 12, 1927, in Wellsville, Ohio, to the late Harry and Dica Potts Boughner.
Her family moved to St. Marys, West Virginia, where she grew up, graduating from St. Marys High School in 1945. In 1948, she married H. Donley Smith, who preceded her in death in 2010. She spent her life as a homemaker and remained active in Class of 45 alumni activities until she moved to Fostoria in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Fleegle and her husband Steve, of Fostoria; two grandsons, Joseph Fleegle and his wife Krista, of St. Marys, WV, and Daniel Fleegle of Pittsburgh, PA; and two great grandsons, Connor and Liam Fleegle of St. Marys. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Jim Procopio of Parkersburg, and Kathy Richardson of New Martinsville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Harold Boughner, and three sisters, Imogene Boughner, Doras Boughner and Wilma Procopio.
According to Marilou's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private service will be held at the family's convenience. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Pleasants County or the Pleasants County Humane Society in Marilou's memory.
