Obituary for Dustin Matthew Kelly

Dustin Matthew Kelly, beloved son of Mark and Vickie, and brother to Tyler Kelly (Aubrey Robison) died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home. He was born on November 13, 1980 and graduated from Marietta High School in 1999, and from Washington State Community College in 2006 with a Liberal Arts Associate Degree, as well as with a Massage Therapy Certificate.
His brother Tyler writes: "Dustin was a loving brother and friend. He was gifted with a genius mind and was a true collector by nature. As a child he enjoyed collecting action figures, comic books, and baseball cards. He spent a lot of time free thinking and focused a majority of his adult life on his true passions of music and art. Both his collections today are impressive to say the least.
Growing up on the family farm, he spent many summer and fall days roaming through the woods and meadow streams with his little brother in tow. He was a good big brother. Always fun loving and adventurous, he recently had been on trips to Colorado and the Caribbean. As of this past week, he was trying to entice me on a Colorado ski trip (which, of course, involved a music concert). He was so happy when he came back from his last trip, a cruise, with his mother and his best friends and idols in the music industry. As he described his trip you could feel his heart was full. His easy going, friend-like demeanor will be missed! He did it his way!"
Dustin loved live music and said live music kept him alive. Regrettably, he felt he did not have many friends, but the ones he had he loved unconditionally and enjoyed going with them to concerts and festivals. He had the gift of empathy and could feel other peoples' pain and was always trying to help them. Even with his own pain, he gave more to others than himself. He was a loving and kind old soul. He loved his family beyond all else. He told them every day that he loved them. His family was blessed to have had him for 38 years. Dustin had a very strong spiritual connection with God and just recently returned to church.
His family will get through this loss by believing he is now free of any pain and will finally be at peace. His family and friends also know he is in heaven listening to Jerry Garcia play and dancing to his music. Dustin will be forever remembered and forever loved.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold "Mac" and Margaret "Peg" Matthews and Robert and Mary Kelly.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will be observed. A private family service will be held at a later date.
