Obituary for James Armstrong

James R. Armstrong, 89, of Rinard Mills, OH passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 29, 1928 in Rinard Mills the son of Harry and Anna Cline Armstrong. He was a welder and had worked at Conalco and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1948, was a life time member of VFW Post at New Matamoras and his hobbies were pony pulls and car shows. He was a veteran of the US Army 2nd Division Medical Corps and served in Korea.
He married Louella Mae Cochran on Mar. 28, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1981.
He is survived by six sons Gerald Lee Armstrong Sr. (Brenda) of New Matamoras; Terry G. Armstrong of Rinard Mills; Rex K. Armstrong Sr. (Teresa) of Rinard Mills, Ricky Armstrong of Rock Hill, SC; Mike Armstrong and Scotty Armstrong of Rinard Mills. One step daughter Sandra Dennis (Steve) of Reno, Ohio and one sister Mary Frances Stark; one brother Bill Armstrong. 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Dennis Wayne Armstrong, two brothers Edward Williams and Bob Armstrong and one sister Betty Jean Williams
Funeral services will be held on Friday Nov. 3, 2017 at Hadley Funeral Home in New Matamoras at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Gordon Deer officiating. Burial will be made in Rinard Mills Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday Nov. 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
Military services will be held at the graveside.
Donations may be made to the Bethel Community Center at Marr, Ohio
