Obituary for Glen "Skeeter" Weckbacher

Glen F. "Skeeter" Weckbacher, 88, of Marietta, formerly of Lower Salem and Lowell, OH passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at Harmar Place in Marietta. He was born August 5, 1929 in Lower Salem to the late Henry O. and Bernice E. Schenk Weckbacher.
He graduated from Salem Liberty High School - Class of 1947. He worked for B.F. Goodrich and Ohio Bell Telephone Co. before on he went on to own and operate Weckbacher Service Station and Garage in Lower Salem.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea for 2 years. He was a 60+ year member of Aurelius Lodge # 308 F.&A.M, a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Marietta Shrine Club, Washington County Scottish Rite, a life member of VFW Post 5108 and a member of American Legion Post 64.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosemary Kuehn, whom he married on April 28, 1956 along with their children, Brenda Wheeler (Rodney), Bruce Weckbacher, Beverly Ewing (Loren) and Bonnie Bauerbach (Paul). Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two sisters, two brothers and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta with Pastor Gene Ferrell officiating. Burial to follow in Salem Township Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the funeral home with a masonic service to be held at 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department, 39 Mills Firehouse Lane, Lower Salem, OH 45745.
