Obituary for Delores J. Ollom

Delores J. Ollom, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Marietta Center. She was born on February 9, 1927 in Reynoldsville, WV to Claude M. and Catherine (Matheny) Griffith.
She graduated from Liberty High School in Clarksburg, WV. On December 24, 1946 she married Robert T. Ollom at her family home in Reynoldsville, WV. They moved to Clarington, OH and lived there until moving to Marietta in 1965. Robert died in 1982.
She was a housewife and mother and was very good at both.
She is survived by her children; Roberta McWilliams (Tim), Thomas Ollom (Barb), William "Bill" Ollom (Teri Ash), Robert "Mitch" Ollom (Pam); grandchildren, Amy Chamberlin (Michael Finchem), Terri Chamberlin, Jim, Katie and Jacob Ollom, Sandy Bishop, Jeremy Ash (Shirley); step grandchildren, Emily Eichhorn (Michael), Gretchen Hollingsworth (Derek), Jesse McWilliams; great grandchildren, Alex Sullivan (Jessica Peplin) and Drew Bishop; step great grandchildren, Noah, Luke and Micah Eichhorn and Gannon Hollingsworth. Also surviving is a brother, Claude J. Griffith (Betty) and several nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank special neighbors, Margie and Dick Clatterbuck and Martha Wallace for everything they have done to help our mother.
Per mom's request there was no funeral. She was buried Tuesday, November 14 at East Lawn Memorial Park next to dad. Mom was the kind of person who would say she wasn't hungry if there were 6 people and 5 desserts, so for those of you who didn't get to say goodbye or pay your respects please do something kind for someone in her honor. She would love that.
