Obituary for Benjamin Frank Gombesky

Benjamin F. Gombesky, Jr., 74, of Marietta, OH passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his residence. Benjamin was born on October 20, 1943 in Hamtramck, MI to the late Benjamin F. Sr. and Anna (Bootz) Gombesky.
He was a 1961 graduate of Fairchance Georges High School in Fairchance, PA.
He was an electric motor repairman and later was customer service/sales for E.M. Service in Elyria, OH and Westinghouse, Eastern and Ohio Apparatus and Machine in Marietta. He also worked at Sears after semi-retiring.
Ben was a life member of the National Rifle Association and Case Knife Club. He had been a member of Fort Harmar Rifle Club and, having completed OPOTA training, was auxiliary for WCSO. He had enjoyed Old Timers Softball League, fishing, hunting and golf. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Ben was Lutheran by faith.
Ben is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Hendershot Gombesky, whom he married at Puritas Lutheran Church, Cleveland, OH on March 19, 1966; daughter, Jennifer Kampmeier (Jim Ritchey); grandson, Korland Kampmeier; sister-in-law Linda Wigert, three nephews and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, OH where Reverend Steve Mahaffey of St. Luke's will officiate the memorial service immediately following visitation.
